Pizza – the possibilities are endless!!!
The word “Pizza” means different things to different people. The majority of people immediately thinks, Margarita, Hawaiian , Four Seasons or even if they are adventurous a Calzone!
For me making a pizza is like painting or writing….you start with an clean piece of dough and then you just let your creative self take over…. Don’t limit yourself to the basics, try new combinations, new herbs and spices and who knows you might invent a new trend in pizzas!!!
Last night I made pizzas for the family but felt like something sweet and savory all at the same time…this is what I came up with!!
By now you should all know that it is vital to start with a good pizza dough. If you are in a hurry, most supermarkets or bakeries sell the dough by weight if you just ask in advance. If you want to make your own, try this easy recipe!
Ingredients for topping
about 10 fresh dates – pitted and quartered!
1 small brie or Camembert – cut in smaller pieces
100 gr bacon – diced and cooked
a sprig of thyme
Top the rolled out pizza dough with the bacon and the dates and bake in a preheated oven until the pizza base is cooked. Add the cheese and pop it back into the oven for about 2 minutes…the cheese must just start to melt
Serving with a grinding of black pepper and fresh rocket leaves!!
