Catering for the masses can be challenging!

PhotobucketCatering for big groups of people can be a daunting task and it takes a lot of dedication and hard work. Catering for 1200 people is a story of a different kind….. it takes a lot of blood,sweat and yes…tears when it is all over.
As you have all noticed, I have been away from the blogging world for a week or so and it was all because I had to plan and prepare for a funeral.

When you plan for a function of this proportions, planning is key and nothing must be left to chance. Chances are that something will go wrong, the trick is to limit these “somethings” to the minimum.
I had a fantastic support system and I could not have done it without these wonderful and willing people.
I am not going to bore you with more details, but here is a list of some of the ingredients.

10kg steak mince
10kg sausage
15 kg mini ribs
10 kg mini cheese grillers
20 loaves of bread
5kg butter
240 eggs
5kg cocktail tomatoes
5kg cheese
3000 cocktail bites
6kg cured beef
6kg ham
6kg salami
…and the list goes on and on……….
